Great beauty products exist in all price ranges, but when we're feeling a little fancy or need a pick-me-up, reaching for a luxury product is an easy way to indulge. Chic packaging, high-performing formulas, and products that make us feel special and confident can spark some real joy. And while splurging on a designer bag or pair of shoes can be a real financial investment, treating yourself to a designer makeup item can be a bit more accessible. However, luxury makeup isn't cheap, and you want to be sure that you're spending your money on a product you'll love.
So, we're guiding you in the right direction by sharing a list of beauty splurges from top luxury brands that our editors stand by. From silky-soft powders and pigmented lipsticks to creamy contours and dazzling eyeshadows, there's something for everyone (and every makeup style) on this list.
Dior
Lip Glow Oil
We can confirm, the buzz is real when it comes to this viral lip oil from Dior. Between the oversized applicator that makes coating the lips a breeze, the hydrating formula loaded with cherry oil, and the ultra-juicy finish that gives the lips a plump appearance, we think it’s a splurge-worthy product. Not to mention, the packaging is the epitome of luxe.
Armani Beauty
Luminous Silk Foundation
We’ve sung the praises of this makeup artist-approved foundation for years, and we’re not stopping any time soon. In fact, it was crowned best overall in our test of the best foundations on the market. The radiant finish gives the skin a healthy-looking glow, and we’ve found that this formula is one of the most skin-like options you’ll find.
Tom Ford Beauty
Lost Cherry Eau de Parfum
If you’re a fragrance lover, Tom Ford is the luxury beauty brand for you. They’ve got some excellent makeup products, but we think fragrance is where the brand really shines. This bestselling fragrance has notes of cherry, tonka bean, and almond, which combine to create a warm, sexy, and wearable scent that many of our editors adore.
Charlotte Tilbury
Hollywood Flawless Filter
Many products from Charlotte Tilbury are staples in our everyday makeup routines, but if you’re going to try one thing from the brand, go for this unique formula which acts as a primer, highlighter, and skin filter in one. It can be applied on bare skin to provide a hint of coverage and a whole lot of glow, or you can apply it on top of foundation to highlight key areas on your face. If you’re not into a glowy look, you simply cannot go wrong with the iconic Pillow Talk Lipstick.
Chanel
N°1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Foundation
With medium coverage and a subtle glowy finish, this foundation looks beautiful on all skin types. It works to blur the appearance of pores and skin texture, and we love that the coverage is buildable without looking cakey. It feels lightweight and wears beautifully throughout the day with minimal creasing and fading. If you’re looking for a versatile foundation that can be built up or sheered out to suit a variety of makeup looks, we highly recommend this one.
Yves Saint Laurent
Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick
Solid lip glosses have become incredibly popular over the last few years, and this is one of the best options on the market. In addition to the gorgeous packaging that looks so chic when pulling it out of your bag, the formula is incredibly moisturizing (thanks to hyaluronic acid and vitamin E), buildable, and comfortable on the lips. It offers a high-shine finish and buildable color payoff.
Westman Atelier
Face Trace Cream Contour Stick
If you’re looking for a sculpting product that defines your features while still looking natural, this creamy contour stick from Westman Atelier is for you. The formula blends out like butter, it offers buildable pigmentation, and it lasts all day long. We also love the simple, weighted packaging—it just feels expensive.
Pat McGrath Labs
Mothership Eyeshadow Palettes
When it comes to eyeshadows, it doesn’t get more luxurious than the Mothership palettes from Pat McGrath Labs. Each one offers 10 pigmented and blendable eyeshadows encased in an elegant black palette. The matte shadows are smooth and pigmented, the shimmers are shiny and easy to blend, and the Blitz Astral shades (the really shiny and glittery ones on the right side of the palettes) offer out-of-this-world dimension. If you find a colorway that speaks to you, we think it’s well worth the splurge.
Hourglass
Ambient Lighting Palette
Hourglass is known for having incredible powder formulas—their blushes, bronzers, and highlighters are all fantastic. But when it comes to finishing powders, the brand is in a category of its own. Each setting powder has a finely milled formula that feels ultra-smooth and completely weightless on the skin. They work to blur the skin and add a subtle glow that truly looks like it’s coming from within. If you’re going to try the incredible powder, we recommend going for a palette since it’s a great value and you can try out different shades.
Gucci
Luminous Matte Beauty Blush
Those who enjoy using powder blushes will adore this formula from Gucci. The base is matte, but each one has the most fine, subtle shimmer running through it to ensure the powder doesn’t look dry or chalky on the skin. It comes in a wide range of shades to suit a variety of skin tones, and we’re impressed by how pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing they are.
Victoria Beckham Beauty
Satin Kajal Liner
Posh Spice has sported some beautiful, smoky looks over the years, so it’s no surprise that her eponymous beauty brand houses one of our favorite eyeliners of all time. Available in a range of neutrals and wearable jewel tones, each liner offers a creamy and pigmented formula that can be applied precisely or diffused with the sponge tip on the other end of the pencil for a softer look. Once on, it doesn’t run or fade all day.
Hermès
Rouge Hermes Matte Lipstick
If, like most of the world, a Birkin Bag isn’t exactly in your price range, but you still want to own a bit of Hermès, purchasing one of these luxe lipsticks is the way to go. This formula offers one-swipe pigmentation with a matte powdery finish. The texture is velvety and smooth, and we appreciate that once you apply the color, you don’t have to worry about it bleeding or fading. We also love that it comes in tons of bright colors and it’s refillable.
Givenchy
Prisme Libre Loose Setting and Finishing Powder
Finding a loose powder that blurs the appearance of skin texture, sets your makeup in place, and controls shine—all without looking cakey—isn’t an easy feat. But this one checks those boxes. It’s offered in six shades, and each one has four shades within it that you can use separately or combine. Between the unique shade range, impressive performance, and the fact that loose powders seem to last forever, this one is totally worth the money.
Clé de Peau Beauté
Concealer SPF 27
If you enjoy the convenience of stick makeup products, give this one a go—it’s the best stick concealer on the market. (It should be for $75). It has full coverage that works to conceal blemishes, redness, hyperpigmentation, and under-eye circles beautifully, and a matte finish that isn’t too flat or drying. And while we absolutely recommend using a separate SPF underneath makeup, it doesn’t hurt that this formula contains SPF 27 for added protection.
